Ghana Youth Guide to hold our maiden edition of Business and Innovation Conference 2024 in Tamale.
Speaking to Mr. Chentiwuni S.A Fatawu who is the Executive Director and Project Coordinator for GYG Strengthening the Ghanaian Youth through Climate-Smart Agriculture and Civic Organizing intervention, highlighted the need for the conference which is slated for 2nd November, 2024 in the Northern Regional Capital at Red-Clay. He stated that, GYG’s Business and Innovation Conference came at the right time since the world is facing youth unemployment by indicating the need to inspire, educate, and empower the next generation of leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators in the region and Ghana at large for Social Change.
According to him Ghana’s Youth has the immense potential that lies within them, and many of our young people face significant challenges in accessing education, training, and resources to turn their business ideas into reality.
”According to the Ghana Statistical Service, young people between the ages of 15 and 34 make up over 60% of our population”. GYG’s Business and Innovation conference is designed to bridge that gap, he added.
The Ghana Youth Guide has assembled an impressive Guest Speaker in the person of Mr. Amin Yahaya who doubled as the Executive Director and Funder of Samakose who will be sharing his expertise, experiences, and insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership at the conference. The conference will explore key themes that are critical to youth success including; entrepreneurial mindset and resilience, innovation and technology, access to finance and funding, networking and collaboration, as well as Leadership and mentorship for social change.
According to him, the goal of GYG is to provide young people with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to succeed in today’s fast-paced business environment. Mr. Chentiwuni acknowledge the efforts made by his team at GYG, as well as their partners who have made this conference possible by lauding their support which he believes is invaluable, and grateful for their commitment to empowering Ghana’s youth.
If you re-called GYG began the year with a project on Strengthening the Ghanaian Youth through Climate-Smart Agriculture and Civic Organizing intervention with the technical support from the DIB (Former Danish International Human Settlement), with funding from CISU (Civil Society in Development) which promoted Climate-Smart farming methods, and enhanced local knowledge about climate change and improve the capacity of GYG as an organisation.
