A fast rising NGO in Northern Region, Ghana Youth Guide has successfully organised its maiden Business and Innovation Conference in Tamale.
This maiden Business and Innovation event by Ghana Youth Guide was held at Red Clay on Saturday, 2nd November, 2024. It was on the theme “Business Innovation for Social Change. “The participants were taken through some key drivers of social change such as; social and environmental awareness, Technology advancement and collaborative ecosystem. The conference drew young people from Tamale Metro, Tolon District, Savelugu Municipality and the Sagnarigu Municipality.
“According to the Ghana Statistical Service, young people between the ages of 15 and 34 make up over 60% of our population”. However, many of our young people in the country face significant challenges in accessing education, training, and resources to turn their business ideas into reality. The Business and Innovation conference 2024 was designed by the Ghana Youth Guide to bridge that gap.
The speaker for the event, Mr. Yahaya Amin – Executive Director of Samakose shared his expertise, experiences, and insights on entrepreneurship, innovation, and leadership.
GYG goal is to provide the youth with the knowledge, skills, and networks necessary to succeed in today’s fast-paced business environment. During the Business and Innovation conference, we explored key themes that are critical to youth success, including; Entrepreneurial mindset and resilience, Innovation and technology, access to finance and funding, Networking and collaboration, as well as leadership and mentorship for social change.
The Executive Director of GYG, Prince Chentiwuni S.A Fataw urged the youth to take advantage of the opportunity created by GYG to learn, grow, and connect with like-minded individuals for social change. “I want to use this medium to commend all participants who took their busy schedules to attend the conference. GYG has streamline several youth intervention programs which seeks to empower more youth in the region and the country at large.” He said.
Participants couldn’t hide their joy after the event with some describing it as the best ever program they have ever attended and called for more of such programmes to help them transform their respective business ideas to reality.
